Height: 5 cm Found: Same as the Douglas Neckera we found this moss on tree trunks while the environment was moist. Description: small to medium-sized, often distinctly rosulate, light to dark green, brown proximally with age. Stems 1-4 cm. Taxonomy: Kingdom Plantae Subkingdom Viridiplantae Infrakingdom Streptophyta Superdivision Embryophyta Division Bryophyta Class Polytrichopsida Order Polytrichales Family Polytrichaceae Genus Atrichum Species Atrichum selwynii Height : 12 cm Found :We found a lot of the Douglas Neckera. Most of them where on tree trunks. Description: We are not very sure of the name classification of the moss but we think it is the Douglas Neckera due to the shape of each moss. Description: Menzies grows mostly in damp or wet shaded areas with soil, though it grows on decomposing wood, soil covered rock and lower tree trunks. It looked similar to the Cranes bill but it has a different texture.
